With a population of approximately 600 people, and sitting just 26 miles from Columbia, Gilbert is also gaining a reputation as a wonderful place to live in the western suburbs of the metro area. Gilbert is situated between Highway 1 and I-20, giving residents perfect access to major roads for commuting or recreating.

Gilbert is also a family friendly community, where residents seek out the benefits of a small town as opposed to a more urban vibe. The city is famous for the Lexington County Peach Festival, as well as its fine schools. In fact, Gilbert High School has accumulated many state championships in sports.
